ALBANY, GA -- The Supreme Court of Georgia has granted a stay of execution for Warren Lee Hill on the issue of the Department of Corrections' change in the lethal injection protocol.

The high court has denied his request to appeal a Butts County Superior Court ruling saying that Hill is not, "beyond a reasonable doubt," mentally retarded.

Hill was due to be put to death tonight at 7:00 PM, however due to new lethal injection protocols, he has a temporary "stay" granted by the Supreme Court of Georgia.
