ALBANY, GA --
The
Levee School of Music started its Rock Camp 2012 Monday morning.

The camp groups kids into bands according to which instrument they play then asks each band to prepare a cover song and an original by the end of the week.

The Levee says often times if you get music lessons you’re in a one-on-one setting and don't ever get to see any other musicians - but this is a different outlet for music students.

"This way they get a chance to sit down with each other and practice and play and be an actual band, which everybody wants to do anyway," said Levee manager, Jon Wills.

The camp will end with a battle of the band contest on Friday where each band will play their two songs for prizes.
