ALBANY, GA --
32 individuals were arrested Sunday for their part in a chicken fighting ring outside of Moultrie, Georgia.

Each one was charged with animal cruelty after the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office discovered the operation after a month long investigation. Lieutenant and Chief Investigator, Shannon Hart, outlined the incident.

"Saturday at 11:30 AM, Lowndes County Sherriff's office along with the Moultrie Humane Society assisted us, in serving a search warrant, on Georgia Highway 256 here in Colquitt County in reference to a chicken fighting operation that was going on," said Hart.

Authorities had been following an anonymous tip that came in a month ago, which lead them to the illegal fighting ring.
