ALBANY, GA --
Candidates for public office are being cautioned about the placement of their signs.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has seen several signs along the highway that are classified as dangerous for both drivers, and those that are putting them up.

"When they go out and put that sign on the right-away, they're endangering themselves. And they're endangering motor vehicles from riding down the road there because they aren't where they should be. Some are going out into the medians and doing it, and some are putting them on the side of the road," said Craig Solomon.

The Department is continuing these warnings throughout the election and hopes candidates will take their own safety into account.
