ALBANY, GA --
Albany Area Arts Council presents The Winner’s Circle featuring top works from the recent Southwest Georgia Regional Art Show and Sale. The Winner’s Circle is the collection of art jurors selected from the Regional Art Show. The exhibit showcases paintings, photography, and sculpture from regional artists who participated in the largest art show in the area. The quality and diversity of the exhibit is a testament to the scope and skill of this region’s visual art practitioners. The Winner’s Circle exhibit and sale will continue through July 27, 2012 at the historic Carnegie Library in downtown Albany.
The Southwest Georgia Regional Art Show and Sale concluded June 21st and was by all accounts a roaring success. The show featured sixty-six artists (65 Georgians) who entered 128 works of art. The opening reception sponsored by Phoebe Community Visions was enjoyed by more than 200 people and over $2,000 in prize money was awarded to winning artists. This is the Albany Area Arts Council’s premiere annual art event. The event occurs early in June and for the last several years has enjoyed the Flint RiverQuarium as its setting.
