ALBANY, GA -- The government boards of Smithville, Leesburg, and Lee County met Friday to discuss the apportionment of the local options sales tax.

Agreeing upon this sales tax months ago, the three boards met Friday for their first meeting as a group.

"This was the first meeting between the cities, to negotiate the apportionment of the local options sales tax," said Vice-Chairman Rick Muggridge.

No word yet of another meeting, however each government body will be honoring the 4th of July holiday by adjourning through next week.
