ALBANY, GA --

With temperatures set to reach triple digits this weekend you wanted to know if you could break a car window if you see a pet in heat distress.

The Albany Police department does not advise you to break out the car window to get to the animal. Instead they recommend calling the police or animal control as soon as possible.

They will then utilize their resources to locate the car’s owner.

If they cannot find the owner they will then come up with a solution to get the animal out.
