ALBANY, GA. --

A local church is partnering with the Stardust Skate Center to give children a chance to help someone else all while having fun.

The 3rd Annual 'Skate and Donate' drive was hosted by the River Road Church of Christ.

Kids had the opportunity to bring canned goods and other non-perishable items into the skating rink to skate all night at a reduced price.

“Benefits go to our local food bank here. Our goal is to get about 3,000 pounds of food donated. This is a way that the youth can see how they can benefit their community,” says Courtney Proctor, Youth Worker for the River Road Church of Christ.

All food collected will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
