ATLANTA, GA -- Bad news on the job front--unemployment numbers are up in Albany.
Metro Albany's jobless rate rose to 9.5 percent in May. That's up from 9.4% in April.
Although, it is down from one year ago when it was 10.1%.
And unemployment numbers are up for the region.
Unemployment rose to 9.1% in southwest Georgia for the month of May. That's up from 9% in April.
The State of Georgia's unemployment rate remained unchanged at 8.9%, which is down from one year ago when it was 9.8%.
