ALBANY,GA --
It looks like Dougherty County employees will not have to take any unpaid holidays this next fiscal year.

Larry Cook with the County Public Works said he can put off the purchase of capital equipment--allowing the shifting around of funds to offset three unpaid holidays.

“The truck loader which was $200,000 and leave it off, and also the herbicide spray truck which was $135,000, to move it off and put it maybe a couple years off,” says County Administrator Richard Crowdis.

Additional equipment which is not needed anymore by public works will also be put up for sale on a government website and is expected to bring in another $150,000.
