The Kiwanis Club welcome the "Strive to Thrive" organization Wednesday as part of its efforts to end poverty in Albany.

One of the members of "Strive to Thrive," Ausha Jackson, says this program isn't about hand outs, but rather, hand ups.

"Strive to thrive is an initiative that was started by the Chamber of Commerce to eradicate poverty in our community. And in order to do that, we have to bridge the gap between class, race, and income lines by brining families that are in poverty together with community members," said Jackson.

Jackson says the group is growing exponentially each year, and the work they're doing is really making a difference in peoples lives.
