ALBANY, GA --
Mayor Dorothy Hubbard will present the Mayor's Award of Excellence to the residents of O.B. Hines public housing neighborhood at a picnic in their honor on Saturday, June 2 beginning at 11:30 am at the property site located at the corner of Residence Avenue and Davis Street.

The Mayor's Award of Excellence recognizes public housing neighborhoods that stand out as quality places to live where residents have shown pride and commitment in keeping Albany a clean and safe place to live, work and play. High scores on criterion that included the number of households that pay their rent on time, the lack of neighborhood disturbances, and the property's score on the HUD Physical Inspection, earned O. B. Hines a nomination for the finals of this year's Mayor's Award of Excellence competition.

Seay Village, Lane Landings, Kingsbury, and William Binns Homes were the other finalists for the Mayor's Award. Each of these properties was evaluated by a panel of three judges who selected the winning property based on the cleanliness of the property and overall curb appeal. The Judges for the competition were: Ausha Jackson of Strive 2 Thrive, CPT. Eddie Jones of the Albany Police Department, and Marneda Myers of Public Health.
