ALBANY, GA. --
In order to pay respect to a family member or friend on Memorial Day, some take a trip to the cemetery.

Those at Crown Hill Cemetery say over the weekend they've seen countless families come and go.  Many bring flowers and flags to remember those who fought for the country.

Crown Hill has a section of the cemetery set up specifically for veterans.

“Military service is something special that most Americans treasure. They treasure their families that have served in the military and at Crown Hill, several years ago, we decided that it might be a good idea to have a section that’s just for veterans and their families,” says David Stern, owner of Crown Hill Cemetery.

Stern says he believes this year’s turnout was slower because of the rain.
