ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Farmers Market kicked off their second season this morning.

Despite the hot weather vendors were out selling fresh produce, flowers, artisan foods and Barbeque.

The market will be held every Saturday starting at 8:00 AM and runs through December 15th. It is held on the bottom level of the parking garage on the corner of Broad and Jackson.

All the produce sold at the market is locally grown, which is something vendor Byron English says is worth supporting, "Grocery stores usually go to distributing companies, so when a man decides to grow on his land, he needs the people to support him...fresh produce fresh food."

It's not to late to become a vendor at the Albany Farmers Market, visit Downtown Albany at www.dtownalbany.com , to find out more.
