ALBANY, GA. --
Albany’s hair care professionals and city leaders gathered Friday night at the Welcome Center on Front Street to pay tribute to mentor and educator Charles T. Price.

Albany Mayor Dorothy Hubbard and Dougherty County School Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree attended the banquet.

Charles Price was known as a businessman who helped others fulfill their career goals.

At the awards ceremony, those who followed in his footsteps were honored for their efforts and achievements in the hair care profession.

The organizer of the event says if it had not been for Price, he and others may not have become as successful as they are in their careers.

“There are people all over the country who started here and relocated to different places and carried on and opened their own businesses based on his teachings and what he's done,” says Businessman Marcus Scott.

Scott says he’s hoping to make this awards ceremony an annual event.
