ALBANY, GA --
Lieutenant Colonel Donald Davis assumed command of the Marne Corps Logistics Base in a ceremony Friday morning.

Family and friends were on hand as Lieutenant Colonel Davis was handed the reins from Colonel Terry Williams.

As Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Davis will perform duties very similar to those of a mayor. He will be responsible for making sure buildings and roads are maintained, along with assuming the overall operations of the base run smoothly.

Colonel Terry Davis will be moving on to the Headquarters Marine Corp, where he will be joining the Installations and Logistics Department. He's excited about the new position but there are a few things he says he will miss: "the community, great folks whether they’re the employees here, the marines, civilian marines, sailors, or whether your out in town; just a warm, warm reception everywhere."
