ALBANY, GA. --
Georgia State Patrol investigators are looking into an early morning accident that involved a deer and a motorcycle.

State troopers say on Tuesday around 4:30 a.m. David Smith, 39, was heading west on Lover's Lane in Lee County when he spotted a deer.

He swerved to avoid hitting the animal and ran off the road.

The victim was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

He has since been released.
