Tax Allocation District members discuss money matters.

ALBANY, GA. --
The Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority (ADICA) has plans in place to build up the downtown area, but many times getting permission to spend a certain amount halts the process.
Monday, the Tax Allocation District or TAD approved a measure allowing ADICA board members to use up to a certain amount of funds without asking TAD officials.
ADICA members now have leeway to spend up to $50,000 on a project without having to come back to the board.
This is only after the TAD board has approved the project and its funding.
“We would just be able to send them an updated report of what we spent money on so it's kind of a limit of what we can do without getting TAD approval,” says Aaron Blair, Albany Downtown City Manager.
Expenditures could be used on things like minor adjustments for the new Art Park or simple upgrades, but not property acquisition.
