ALBANY, GA. --
The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off Small Business Week Monday night with a meet and greet for members.

Those with the Albany Chamber of Commerce have planned a week of education and honors.

More than 90% of the businesses within Albany’s chamber are small businesses and officials say this week is all about them.

“Over 60 percent of businesses nationwide are small businesses and they employ more of the job workforce than large businesses do. A lot of people don't know that. So we just want to let them know how much we appreciate them and how important they are to us,” says Chris Hardy, President and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce.

An educational luncheon on how to start up a small business will be held on Tuesday.

Wednesday plans are in place for a cyber crime prevention seminar and Thursday there will be a breakfast and awards ceremony at the Hilton Garden Inn.
