ALBANY,GA --
The Professional Affairs Committee of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital met Monday afternoon.

They meet once a month to thoroughly vet physician applicants before they are approved by the board.

“We've all heard stories of people who were able to falsify their credentials, act like a doctor, show up, work like a doctor, only later to be found out that they worked for a pharmaceutical company or for some implant manufacturer,” says Chief Medical Officer Dr. Doug Patten.

The Professional Affairs Committee is the second to last step of an already intense process which is required by all hospitals.
