ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Downtown Sertoma Club welcomed Senator Freddie Powell-Sims as a speaker during a luncheon Thursday afternoon.

Sims spoke to the crowd at Cafe 230 to update them on legislation and keep the public connected.

"The community needs to know everything that goes on in the legistlature. We are so far south of the state capital, where everything happens, information kind of filters slowly," said Senator Sims.

The Albany Downtown Sertoma Club is an organization created in October of 2010 aimed at assisting those with hearing issues and informing the public on those issues.
