ALBANY, GA --
The Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association or GFSPA met for their annual state convention in Albany.

Legal issues were discussed such as what a funeral director can and cannot do if the family decides to move the body of their loved one to another funeral home.

“Even if the person decides, well, I don't want to use that funeral home because I was not treated right, I felt pressured or whatever, they can always move their loved one, but most times funeral directors will say, well you need to pay me this before you move the loved one, but by law they have to let the loved one go to whatever funeral home they want to go to and worry about getting paid later on,” says GFSPA President Michael Fowler.

Next year's convention will be held in Columbus, Georgia.
