ALBANY, GA. --

For the past few weeks the United States has seen a drop in prices at the pump and now the price for a barrel of oil has inched lower.

According to AAA, the price per barrel of oil has dropped to its lowest cost so far this year.

At $96.13, it’s $2.00 less than last week.

Officials say pessimistic economic news across the globe caused the price per barrel to drop.

Currently the price for a gallon of gas in Georgia is $3.53, twenty cents lower than the national average.

Due to a weakened demand, retail gas prices are expected to continue to fall throughout the week.
