ALBANY,GA --
In our Facebook story of the day, you wanted to know if Radium Springs will ever be open for water activities like swimming again?

The short answer is: not in the near future.

The water is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Natural Resources and they say it's always a possibility, but it looks unlikely at this point. The water is too dirty and it would take a lot of red tape to get it ready.

“If swimming were to be allowed sometime in the future, it would be on a very limited basis like maybe one weekend during summer, something like that,” says Fisheries Regional Supervisor Rob Weller.

In addition, the water is so low right now, if swimming were being considered, they would have to wait until the level rises.
