ALBANY, GA --
Tuesday evening, the Dougherty County School System held their annual Teacher of the Year and Retired Educators banquet.                                                            

Each of the Teacher of the Year winners received recognition at the banquet as well as the thirty teachers retiring from the system. The eight Teacher of the Year finalists each received plaques.

The winner of the Dougherty County Teacher of the Year is Carolyn Edwards Ford from Lincoln Elementary Magnet School.  Ford won a special ring and a $1,000 prize from the event sponsors.  Ford says she’s humbled by the experience.
