TIFTON, GA. --
J.T. Reddick Middle School students in Tifton, Georgia are making an effort to save the earth.

As a part of the school's 2nd Annual Earth Day celebration, the students learned firsthand how to conserve resources.

On Friday 6th grade students learned how to turn old newspapers into new paper.

They also found out how much water they use within one day and why it's so important to preserve natural resources.

Science instructors at the school say small steps add up to make a big difference.

“They are learning how to reuse materials that we have here on the earth by taking household materials and learning how to divide them up into different recyclables to take them to the recycle centers,” says Tonya McDaniel, a science teacher at J.T. Reddick Middle School.

The school celebrated Earth Day a little late because of CRCT exams.
