TIFTON, GA --
Tifton police need your help with information involving a potential kidnapping.

According to authorities, on Monday evening, a 24-year-old Tifton woman was walking on Goff Street near the hospital.  A black male with a knife came out of a wooded area and took her a short distance into the woods.  He made her get on the ground but a car drove toward them and he fled from the area.  A search was conducted with tracking dogs from Turner County but the track was eventually lost, possibly due to the suspect getting into a vehicle.

The Tifton Police Department also encourages you to use the buddy system when walking or jogging, always be aware of your surroundings, if possible, avoid wooded or secluded areas, and call if you see anything suspicious.

There are no suspects at this time and the Tifton Police Department is asking for anyone with information to call the Tifton Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at (229)382-3132.
