Protein supplements can help to add results to a workout but should not be used alone.

Don't drink meals

“It’s always going to say for best results, incorporate this with a healthy diet and a work out regime,” said Kris Morrill, fitness coach.

Protein supplements are meant to work with everything else.

“You're not going to be able to take a pill and turn around and look like Miss America the next day, that's just not going to happen,” said Morrill.

When looking for help with supplements it is important to look at the ingredients. Look for a low sugar content and words you can pronounce.

“Make sure the protein you get is very high quality and that you're not getting a bunch of additives,” said Morrill.

Supplements aren't as good as getting nutrients from food and should not be considered meal replacements.

“You never want to drink your calories in place of food, I mean that's just a big no no because your body is not meant to run on supplements alone,” said Morrill.
