Wild Adventures is known for up-close encounters with animals but this season the park has invested nearly $1,000,000 in more than 300 updates to make those encounters even closer.
“Wild adventures is definitely wild, there are new discoveries around every corner,” said Micha Hogan, public relations manager at Wild Adventures.
Big or small, the park offers interactions for all ages. One of their more memorizing shows is “Tigers of India.” Guests watch as ferocious tigers display their natural instincts then become cuddly creatures at the trainers command. All of the shows at Wild Adventures are not only entertaining but educational too.
“We’ve found that one of the most effective ways to do that is for people to see them up close and personal,” said Mike Inks, tiger trainer. “It’s one thing to look at them on a website or read about them in a magazine but when you see them ten feet away from you it creates such a strong emotional impression on people and I think that’s the best way for us to get the word out about tigers.”
One new show for the 2012 season is “Do You Zoo?” It combines fun and learning in a game show setting.
Although guests can be feet away from animals or even touch them, Wild Adventures teaches and reminds that safety is always first.
“It’s important to know that they’re definitely not pets by any stretch of the imagination, we’ve been training by professionals and we work all the time with them. You definitely have to know what you’re doing,” said Inks.
