In light of the Trayvon Martin case, a lot of people want to know more about the Grand Jury process since the special prosecutor said there will be no Grand Jury.

The Grand Jury is basically a screening process.

Its a group of citizens that consider two things one if a crime has been committed and two, if the person being presented is involved with the crime.

Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards explains a little more about the process,"normally the Grand Jury case only has witness general from the state and it is general held in secret. So, there is no process that is available for everyone to see."

Since the Grand Jury was not selected for the trayvon martin case  it's up to the special prosecutor to make a decision to make an arrest or not based on the information she has.
