ALBANY,GA --
Rotarians were briefed on the many programs offered by the SOWEGA Council on Aging Tuesday.

Development Director Izzy Sadler says Meals on Wheels is a program offered in the 14 surrounding counties, and they’re always looking for volunteers.

Sadler says their programs will become increasingly important, since there will be 1.5 million Georgians over the age of 65 in the year 2020.

“There's going to be different issues with transportation, with education, with social services, all of those will have to accommodate more people,” says Sadler.

To find out how you can volunteer, call the Council on Aging at 229-432-1124.
