ALBANY, GA --
Thursday afternoon, the Albany Rotary Club was doing their share to keep Southwest Georgia beautiful.

Members spent time cleaning up the Liberty Expressway, reducing the number of cigarette butts in the area.

The Rotary Club has done this service project before at several different locations throughout the city.

Because cigarettes are the most littered item in the United States - members also handed out cigarette ashtrays to drivers.

Albany Rotary Club President Steve Allen says "it's important for people to realize they need to take pride in their community."

The club has three more service projects like this planned for this year.
