ALBANY, GA. -- Three people have been indicted in the case of a 5-year-old girl shot in the foot.

The child suffered injuries back in August after finding a firearm under a couch inside her home.

Her mother, Shondrique Mallory, has been charged with reckless conduct for placing the gun in the area.

Kelvin Jones, the mother’s boyfriend, and Dinah Hosley are also facing charges for tampering with evidence.

Jones is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A Dougherty County grand jury has also indicted a man accused of assaulting a peace officer.

Back in December, Anthony Salter was taken into custody after he allegedly resisted arrest for shoplifting at the Harvey's Grocery store on west Gordon Avenue.

When Marita Williams tried to contain the suspect he bit her, hit her, and then sprayed her with mace.

Salter is being indicted for aggravated assault on a peace officer, reckless conduct and battery.
