ALBANY, GA --
The Dougherty County Health Department wants people in or around the Willow Nook Mobile Home Park in the 3500 block of Sylvester Road to be wary of suspicious animals.

On Tuesday, Dougherty County Police shot and killed a rabid fox that bit a woman. Officials want people to be careful in the area because they're unsure if the fox infected any other animals with rabies.

Environmental specialists scanned the area Wednesday night and will continue looking for signs of other rabid animals Thursday morning.

If you see an animal acting unusual you're asked to stay away and call environmental health at 229-438-3943.
