ALBANY, GA --
The victims of a burglary are being questioned after law enforcement found marijuana in their home.

Albany police say Keith Mitchell, 31, and Tasha Mitchell told officers that they and their children were asleep when suspects forced their way into their North Ingleside Drive residence. APD say a handgun and electronics were stolen. Police say Tasha reported during the incident, one of the suspects struck herin the head with an unknown object while making demands for money; police say she was treated for the laceration she received as a result of this encounter.

While conducting an initial investigation, police say there was a very strong odor of marijuana throughout the residence. APD says they did not find the burglary suspects but did recover one pound of marijuana along with the other stolen property in an alley. The Albany Dougherty Drug Unit found nearly $17,000 worth of cash inside the home.

Keith is being charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. APD says warrants against Tasha Mitchell are pending.
