ALBANY, GA -- Students and faculty at Darton College had the opportunity to listen to retired Sgt. Keni Thomas, who was a Task Force Ranger and was later portrayed in the movie, 'Black Hawk Down'.
Thomas, whose mission it was to find Mohammed Farrah Aideed, was deployed to Somalia in 1993.
In October of ‘93, he fought in an 18-hour fire fight which became the basis for the book and the movie.
He spoke Tuesday on the importance of leadership and drove home that message by telling stories of his former comrades.
“And I use those guys and the examples that they set that was an example for all of us to follow and it was their leadership basically that saved all of us,” says Thomas.
