GBI says an altercation in the woods with a naked man and an officer ended with the man being fatally shot
PELHAM, GA -- A naked man was fatally shot in the 500 block of Liberia Street in Pelham, according to GBI Special Agent In Charge Steve Turner.
Turner says Friday afternoon, Pelham police were called to the location. He says the naked man ran through a yard into the woods. GBI says an altercation occurred in the woods that ended with the man being shot and killed by the officer.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is taking over the case from local authorities.
Turner says they have not identified the man yet, nor are they releasing the name of the officer. He also says he cannot say at this time what the altercation in the woods was about.
