ALBANY, GA -- All day Friday, volunteers were working hard to prepare for the Albany Marathon.

Crews lined the runner’s route with barrels, so prepare for closures all around the area as early as from 7am to as late as 4pm. You can see the full route at albanymarathon.com.

Organizers are already thinking about how bad weather can impact the Saturday morning events.

"If there is a decision that needs to be made as for as the weather we will rally the troops up at 6AM and make that decision. We will make sure first and foremost that are runners will be running in a safe environment,” said Rashelle Beasley, Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau Manager.

The CVB says they look forward to seeing the community in Albany streets cheering participants to the finish line.

“Everybody needs to come out rain or shine” Beasley.
