LEE COUNTY, GA --
Lee County High School is celebrating the Arts and Black History month with a performance from world renowned violinist Gareth Johnson.

He is currently serving a year of residency at Albany State University as a Guest Lecturer.

Johnson is also a composer and arranger of numerous forms of music.

He has traveled all around the United States and won many awards for his musical talent.

One thing he really enjoys is being able to teach as many students as possible.

"Right now classical music is headed downhill just a little bit; it’s because we’re not involving the youth enough in it, and to get out and bridge that gap between what’s popular and what’s not so popular is the way that were going to bring classical music back," said Johnson.

Johnson just finished working on some new music with hip hop artist Bubba Sparxxx.
