ALBANY, GA --
Litter stretched vacant properties, broken windows and dilapidated unsafe spaces prompted the Albany Mayor to take action.

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard, several elected officials and community leaders hopped on the Albany Transit Friday morning with a goal to learn more about eye sores in the Albany community.

“When you ride down Oglethorpe and some of our other gateways you just have too much blight and too much litter,” said Dorothy Hubbard.

The officials say the missing piece to this puzzle of having more beatification lies in the hands of community members.

“We don’t want to have to put people in jail to make them stop throwing trash out the window.” and she adds, If we have to do that we will. We will do whatever it takes to clean up our city,” said Mayor Hubbard.

The mayor and other officials just want everybody help to clean up everything where they live.
