ALBANY, GA --
The internationally recognized Marine Band of Albany gave its last musical performance Friday morning.

More than a hundred people gathered at the Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base for the deactivation ceremony.

The band is one of twelve in the Marine Corps bands. The award winning military performers day have ended this era  because of the budget cuts in the military. Another band in California was also deactivated, leaving the total number of bands at 10.

The band leader for more than three years shared his thoughts on his time making music with the group. “We can leave with a positive attitude that we left on a high our legacy is going to echo through history,” said Christian Flores, the Chief Warrant Officer.
