Presidents Day celebrated across the nation.
ALBANY, GA. --
From the first one to the current one, Monday people all over the United States celebrated Presidents’ Day.
The federal holiday started out in honor of the birth of George Washington, the nation’s first president. However, it’s now widely accepted as a day to acknowledge all U.S. Presidents.
Washington, along with the 43 presidents that followed, has helped carry the nation through it all including wars, depression, and prosperity.
FOX 31 hit the streets to find out who southwest Georgians believe is the most influential president.
“I say Bill Clinton because of the simple fact that I feel like the economy was much better,” said Tyron Taylor.
“I'd have to say it is President John Kennedy for the way he handled the Cuban Missile Crisis with no fear. He gives me much inspiration,” said Dylan Taylor.
“President Barack Obama. There's nothing else to be said Barack,” said Jeffrey Allen.
Presidents’ Day is celebrated every year on the third Monday in February.
