ALBANY, GA. -- Wednesday kicked off the 24th Annual Georgia Quail Hunt in southwest Georgia.

The hunt is one of Georgia’s top economic development events.

2012 is a record year for the event because more than 30 business prospects from all over the country are participating.

The president and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce says job creation is the number one priority for the state.

“Companies can see this is a great place to do business because a company doesn't care about a county line or a city line. A company wants to go where they can get good workforce, great logistics and a great quality of life,” said Georgia Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Chris Clark.

The event is a partnership between the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission, the Georgia Allies and the Southwest Chamber Council.
