New jobs report shows positive economic movement

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, unemployment decreased nationwide and job gains increased just within the month

ALBANY, GA -- Some good news coming from the U.S. Department of Labor: Job openings increased and unemployment decreased in January

Employers added 243,000 jobs in January – in December, 203,000 jobs were added. In January, the manufacturing sector accounted for 50,000 of the jobs added nationwide in January; manufacturing also accounted for 14 percent of the job gains in just over a year.

As for unemployment, it fell to 8.3 percent which is the lowest it’s been since February 2009.
