ALBANY, GA -- Sometimes getting your blood pressure can be a bad thing—if it’s not catching what it’s supposed to be looking for.
Doctors say you may want to get your blood pressure taken from both arms. If one is significantly higher than the other, that may mean you’re at risk for heart disease.
“That’s a sign that there may be some peripheral vascular disease. Well, if blockages are developing in these peripheral arteries, then blockages may also be developing in your heart,” says Internist Dr. Joe Stubbs.
Officials say if one arm is at least 15 points higher than the other, you may be at risk for heart disease.
