ALBANY, GA -- Shake and bake meth is a process that is gaining popularity among those in the meth community--and drug unit officials are doing their best to combat it.

You wanted to learn more in today's Facebook story of the day.

Shake and bake meth is cooking meth without a heat source.

Toxic ingredients are mixed in a plastic container, most often a two liter soda bottle.

“Once you mix everything up and you add a little water to it, water and lithium or sodium metal don't play well together and once the water starts reacting to the lithium inside, the bottle starts making a reaction, starts cooking,” says Victor Camp, an investigator with the Albany Dougherty Drug unit.

Camp says if pressure in the bottle is not released, it can explode, resulting in chemicals burns and even death.
