ALBANY, GA --
Keep Albany-Dougherty beautiful pruned trees along Westover Boulevard early Saturday.

Volunteers from the Master Gardeners and 4-H of Dougherty County lined up and trimmed "The Trees of Courage".

They were planted in the early nineteen nineties for every miltary personnel that lost there life during the Iraq Conflict.

In all, six hundred and sixty trees were dedicated.

Diamond Childs, a member of the Dougherty County 4-H, says "the trees look like they were in bad shape and as you can the trees can kinda like talk to you. They had jagged ends and then you just go in and cut off some of them and make them look much better."

Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful will be out  again in the next three months trimming more public trees to keep Albany looking attractive and vibrant.
