An Albany State University professor recently won a prestigious award

An Albany State University English Professor recently won a prestigious award at the Harlem Renaissance Conference. 

Dr. Marva Banks received the Evelyn Gilbert Etheridge Award for being an educator who “embodies and encapsulates the spirit of teaching”.

Banks has taught at ASU for 20 years and was honored for her dedication to service and literary scholarship.
