Three people face charges in Dougherty County relating to a high speed chase in October that killed an APD officer; two of which are indicted in Worth County on counts including gang related charges

ALBANY, GA -- Kentrell Butler, Wesley Wilkerson and Jessica Anderson are all charged in the case where Albany police officer Terry Flemming died crashing her car during a high speed chase. Butler and Wilkerson face 16 charges including armed robbery and aggravated assault.

"The indictment does include allegations that these two defendants in the chase apparently made alleged aggravated assaults on police officers with their vehicle," says Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards.

Also among the charges the Wilkerson and Butler face is felony murder.

"If the suspect is intentionally engaged in a felony and someone dies even accidentally they are here responsible under the felony murder rule of our law," says Edwards.

As for Anderson, she faces Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.

"There is information that there were other activities in our neighboring Worth County," says Edwards. In November, Sylvester police reported Wilkerson was one of the suspects wanted in connection with a Downtown Sylvester finance business.

The Worth County Assistant D.A. says they cannot discuss case details prior to the trail, but an indictment report shows Wilkerson, Anderson and Donterrius Gordon are all charged with Armed Robbery, two counts of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

The next step in both Worth and Dougherty Counties is an arraignment where the defendants will enter their plea.

"The armed robbery charges alone carry potential life sentences so there are multiple life sentences that could be the result of this crime," says Edwards. "We are giving the utmost attention to this situation where a police officer has lost her life. police officers put their lives on the line every day to protect."

Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards says it is their obligation regardless to make sure justice is served.
