ALBANY, GA. --

Just before Monday's tribute ceremony for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Albany Marine Corps Band set up to warm the crowd at the Civic Center.

Song selections included jazz classics as well as patriotic hymns.

Albert Humphrey attended the event with his son. He says it was a great honor to have the band come out on a day so special.

“I’m very happy that this day is set aside to honor Dr. King for the great things that he's done, not only him, but the people that were before him,” said Albert Mumphrey.

The Albany Marine Corps band also played throughout breaks in the ceremony.
